DANIEL GARRINGER
Born in Nebraska City, Nebraska in 1962, Garringer has been a lifelong resident of the
state. In 1968 his family moved to Central Nebraska, eventually settling in Kearney
where he completed High School. His High School Art Teacher introduced him the
works of Andrew Wyeth which greatly influenced his style. In 1980 Garringer enrolled
at Kearney State College to purse a degree in Art Education. He was fortunate to have
many outstanding instructors that again impacted him as and Artist and Educator His
education was interrupted in 1982 when he married his wife Paige and took up farming
with his in-laws. Garringer returned Kearney State College and graduated in 1989 with a
Bachelor of Arts in Education. He immediately took a job teaching Art in the Public
School systems. In 2003 he completed his Masters Degree in Art Education at the
University of Nebraska at Kearney. In 2019 he retired to spend more time painting and
drawing.
