Kearney's 150th

Juried Exhibition

$200 top prize

$25/entry

The Brickwalk Gallery is partnering with the Buffalo County Historical Society/Trails & Rails Museum to help celebrate Kearney’s 150th birthday by showcasing a unique art exhibition highlighting historic Kearney Nebraska.

BCHS/Trails & Rails Museum, has provided a collection of photographs by Alfred T. Anderson, which we are asking artists to create pieces based on the prints which will accompany the artwork while on display.

These photographs are A.T. Anderson’s first commission through George W. Frank’s efforts to bring early investment into Kearney in the early 1890’s.  We hope this show will educate and inspire, as we continue to carry on the creativity and charm that makes Kearney a great place to live and visit.

Please select an image as an inspiration for your artwork.  Add color, life or a new perspective if you wish to.  All mediums are welcome as we ask artists to render these images using their one-of-a-kind creativity, unique styles and different techniques.

Artwork renditions should be no smaller than 16" x 20" and no larger than 36" x 48"

All 2D artwork must be showroom quality with hanging hardware included. Unframed canvases must have finished edges, other mediums must be framed with glass (no plexiglass) unless approved by the gallery prior to selection.

Artists must purchase their image entry through this webpage.  All purchases are considered final and non-refundable as we would like serious commitments to the show.  Finished pieces must be dropped off at the gallery or have arrangements made for pickup no later than Saturday May 27th.

If artists wish to sell their artwork, the Artist/Brickwalk's split for this event is 50/50 and serious efforts will be made by the gallery to market each item to potential buyers during the duration of the show and venue placement afterwards, if the artist wishes.

The show will open on June 2nd with our First Friday Open House from 7-9pm, then we will be hosting a Brickwalk Social on Friday, June 23rd from 7-9pm.
